About sam
Sam is a Chicago-based performer.
Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Sam moved to Evanston, Illinois to study at Northwestern University. He graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a certificate in Musical Theatre.
While in school, Sam also explored his passions for vocal arrangement, tap dance, and choreography. He spent his free time music directing and arranging music for an a Cappella group, as well as tap dancing in TONIK Tap, Northwestern’s tap dance company.
After graduating, Sam moved to Chicago to continue performing. He has worked with companies such as Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Drury Lane, Marriott Theatre, Theatre at the Center, First Folio, Northbrook Theatre, Emerald City, and Blank Theatre Company. In addition to performing, Sam also works as a choreographer and freelance vocal arranger.
Sam is especially excited about Theatre for Young Audiences. In school, Sam was lucky enough to work with Seesaw Theatre as a performer and composer, helping them to create multi-sensory theatrical experiences for young audiences with developmental differences. Since then, Sam has performed with many TYA companies in the Chicagoland area and looks forward to introducing stories and theatre to a new generation of audiences.
